Night-time

Night-time

The tiny bedroom at night has order,
stonewalled serenity like a nun’s cell.
No-sound, such quietness a rarity.
One green candle burns, its scent fills the room
with patchouli, geranium, basil.
I sip hot chocolate, such sweetness comforts,
soothes and sedates me, entices me to sleep.
I feel pain-free and unusually warm,
my blood seems free-flowing, unchilled for once.
I rediscover a stillness which comes with
just listening, not-doing, just-being,
hearing its peace which only speaks in silence.

Lovely words that get straight to the essence of much needed peace in our hectic lives.

The just being is what sells it to me. Very fine.

I love your header!

What a wonderful poem. I could smell the candle, see it's flame, and feel the warmth and relaxation through my body. Such a great, visual poem.

Happy Weekend!

What bliss to be in such peace in a room so well described.

I think I really must pick up that book and read it. I'm sure that I would appreciate it far more than the movie because books are not l.o.u.d. Thank you for letting me know that it is good one.

Lovely, rare moments indeed. I'm placing this poem in sight. I have a room like this and I treasure it for the very same reasons.

Thank you, Cait.
