This is a long range photo of an empty cottage taken recently.
My kind of place, a very tiny dream cottage perhaps?
My kind of place, a very tiny dream cottage perhaps?
Imagine all the people living life in peace.
You may say I'm a dreamer,
but I'm not the only one.
I hope someday you'll join us
and the world will live as one.
You may say I'm a dreamer,
but I'm not the only one.
I hope someday you'll join us
and the world will live as one.

Quite by chance and following on from the wish list theme of the previous post, my favourite daughter sent me this poem today.Hold fast your dreams
Hold fast your dreams! Within your heart
Keep one still, secret spot Where dreams may go,
And, sheltered so, May thrive and grow
Where doubt and fear are not. O keep a place apart,
Within your heart,
For little dreams to go!
Think still of lovely things that are not true.
Let wish and magic work at will in you.
Be sometimes blind to sorrow.
Make believe! Forget the calm that lies In disillusioned eyes.
Though we all know that we must die,
Yes you and I May walk like gods and be
Even now at home in immortality.
We see so many ugly things— Deceits and wrongs and quarrelings;
We know, alas we know
How quickly fade The color in the west,
The bloom upon the flower,
The bloom upon the breast
And youth's blind hour.
Yet keep within your heart
A place apart Where little dreams may go
May thrive and grow.
Hold fast—hold fast your dreams!

That's all for now but before I go I shall leave you with a song, one by the artist I am listening to tonight.
I wanted to post a song on the dream theme but it was very hard as there are so many I like: Jack Savoretti, Fleetwood Mac to name just two but I felt like hearing Roy Orbison's voice again and here is his lovely song.

I love this poem Cait.I have added a dream room to Rummer Godden's list. Have you read her book "A house with 4 rooms" Its a favourite of mine.
Thank you, Cait, for all of this. I am sorry to have missed you earlier in the common room, but just knew that if I clicked over here, I could find confirmation that we were in the embrace of a full moon.
I can always tell by what happens in the shop, well before the sun sets.
Best wishes!

The cottage is lovely, although I do live in a sweet cottage! Lovely blog Cait.

I love those Paul Henry paintings.
I wonder Cait, as you seem to have much more knowledge of these things, could you possibly point me in the direction of a small verse that would be approprate for me, mother of the bride, to read at my daughters wedding, non religious?

I do love Roy Orbison's voice, sort of rich but vulnerable, too, and this song is one of my favourites.
I would love to live in that little cottage, especially if it had a little log burner in it and plenty of rugs and blankets.
Maybe one day i will live somewhere like that, but for now i am really loving my little 2 bed end terrace, i go through ups and downs with it, right now im very happy where i am, very contented.

Just a day ago I was introduced to the paintings of Paul Henry (I didn't know of him), and I am smitten. I am an artist (from Holland, living in Los Angeles) - I can tell that you love the arts. And how lucky you are, where you live!! Have a happy Easter.
what a wonderful poem to read during my birthday week! One to take to heart.
I love Roy, too. No one could sing quite like him.
Beautiful post! I especially like the top image, with those dreamy clouds.

I, too, love Roy Orbison's voice (listened to a later album that included him just yesterday, in fact). And I want to live in that cottage!! Thank you for the song, the photos, the poems--and the tale of the glass-winged butterfly.
I adore the Paul Henry pieces. Everytime I stop by here, it is pure enchantment.
Happy Easter to you!
