Johnny and dog Darcy
I'm going to start a Very Special People feature. Nominations anyone?Today, the first is to be dear Johnny Walker who is 'sitting in' as they say for dear Tel Wogan on Radio 2 from 7 am to 9.30 am. At 8 am when I have had enough of Today on Radio 4 and my blood pressure has hit the roof I always switch to Radio 2 for some good music. Nothing against dear Terry but when Johnny sits in we have a simper-free zone, (no names mentioned), a lack of inane chatter and the ever-so-slightly sordid Janet and John chat but best of all we have Good Music, nay the Best Music.
Johnny's voice is melted chocolate washed down with wine and he shares my taste in music (or do I share his, we are fellow Arians?). I am a self-confessed night owl but Johnny makes my mornings more than bearable, highly enjoyable in fact.
God Bless you Johnny.

Do the 'Very Special People have to be someone famous, or can they be someone we know . . .
Lovely idea btw.
I agree entirely. The only time I listen to Wogan is when Johhny Walker is on....
They can be someone not famous but you would have to tell me a little about why they are special I spose. Then we can all be inspired. Glad you like the idea, I am fed up with all the bad news around and would like to spread some positivity about.
Hello Cait, and thanks for your comment. I cannot imagine you rushing any would be reader from your wee library!
As for our rose idea, the staff and I put our heads together a month or so ago, trying to come up with some simple, but special way to honor moms (and daughters of moms, too) and decided to get the roses. Today, I learned from this site that what we did is also a custom in Frances
So, we were in good company!
As always, I loved reading this blog of yours.
xo
I so agree, he is one cool fellow.
Hello Cait, funnily enough, I turned on the radio this morning as I did the washing up (glamourous life I lead!) and caught 'pause for thought' with Johnny. I was very taken with what they were discussing and it led me to thinking I would do a blog about it (which I haven't written yet) - and then I come over to you, by chance, and here you are writing about Johnny! Funny coincidence.
I think your idea is lovely - and especially the need for positivity. Will have to scratch my head.
And, btw, I love your music - I think we are very much on the same wavelength but I'm still searching for a site which has the range of stuff I'm looking for.
There is always such a sense of peace about your blog - it obviously matches your spirit. In fact, it's just like going into the enveloping silence of a small library. Wonderful.
Ps: have just looked at your previous blog (fab, again) and seen your children's books. One of my daughters' favourite books is 'First Snow' by Kim Lewis. We love the illustrations as well as the story - it all reminds us so much of where we live. Very evocative.
Hello Cait,
I am a big Johnny Walker fan too and I think you both have brilliant taste in music!
Hello Cait,
I too sometimes switch to Radio 2, and agree Johnny Walker has a voice to melt one's heart, love his programmes. What a lovely picture that is of him with little doggie.
So many awful things going on in the world, I do so worry about everything, when also I seem helpless to do anything about it.

Hi Cait, just catching up. Enjoy your blogs so much and can empathise with many of your blessings in the previous one - especially the hanging the washing outside and turning the Rayburn off when it gets too hot!xx
I love this idea! I will have a think. I came over to let you know that I have done a book review on a wonderful, special book that I suspect you would enjoy just as much as I did.
