Oh, I love this. Was so shocked and saddened to hear of his passing yesterday. But what a legacy he left.

I can't believe he's gone. I will be playing my Velvet Underground "banana cover" album this week. And "New York", my favourite Lou reed record ever.

Greetings from London.

The man may be gone, but his music remains. Thank you.

First heard Lou Reed in 1968.
One of the icons of our time. I once saw him at the gym
here ( about 6 years ago).
An astounding talent. Glad you liked him too.

Cait, on the evening I returned from my UK holiday, I read the news (as the lyric goes) that Lou Reed had died.

Yes, he was unique, and many other poets/musicians decided to stand upon his shoulders as they pursued their own work.

My memory of a Lou Reed sighting came on a chilly winter morning in Central Park when a Christo project, The Gates, was unfurled. Amongst my fellow witnesses to this happening (bundled up and stamping our feet to keep the circulation going) were Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson. Just faces in that investigating crowd.
