Hard Times

Cait, I know that you already know what a library fan I am. It's grand to see that painting of an unusual view of NYC's fantastic 42nd Street Public Library.

With Mr Wilde's words in mind, I have been thumbing through the extremely huge September Vogue magazine that arrived in my mailbox yesterday. It is about 90% advertisements featuring what are supposed to be alluring photos of beautiful models in glamorous settings. Just about every one of these models is passionately holding on to a handbag, a very, very expensive handbag.

If folks are still around to ponder such matters years from now, they might ponder this handbag iconography, while comparing it to the seeming lack of library funding.

Curious, eh? xo

Cait - what a wonderful poster of NY Public Library. I have been a Library borrower since I was at infant school when living in London, I would use the Westminster one. Cannot imagine what it would be like without Libraries, they are part of our Community, we need to fight nail and tooth to save them.
