I can see clearly now

I caught this old tune on an advert recently and it brought back memories of sunny, happy days when I was a young woman. I loved the simple song then. I still love it.

One of the comments on YouTube was a hug to my soul. That is exactly what the song does to me.

Enjoy.

I can see clearly now

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s gonna be a bright, bright Sun-Shiny day.

I think I can make it now, the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is the rainbow I’ve been praying for
It’s gonna be a bright, bright Sun-Shiny day.

Look all around, there’s nothing but blue skies
Look straight ahead, nothing but blue skies

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s gonna be a bright, bright Sun-Shiny day.

  1. I love that cottage, and can just picture myself moving in there and enjoying some peace and quiet in the countryside.

    Great song too.

Re: you previous post do try and read Steal You Away by the fantastic Italian writer Niccolo Ammaniti. It made me cry :) TFx

  3. I love that song, too. Only trouble is, whenever it comes on my other half spoils it for me by joining in with 'I can see Dierdre now, Lorraine has gone' - and I can't get that out of my head now.

Gorgeous cottage, and completely agree about the pillars!

  4. I have a vivid memory of listening to that song as we drove to the swimming pool on a hot summer's day.

  10. Hello Cait! This is definitely a classic.
Yes, just the sort of cottage for a great retreat from the world! Paul Henry might be just outside at his easel!

  11. Wonderful cottage; I could escape to it Right Now. As for the song, I wish it would stop raining here long enough to see clearly. Guess I'll just have to sing along...it's an old favorite. Thank you.
