The Poem and the Picture -- I'm getting there!

Write it on your heart...

Write it on your heart
that every day is the best day in the year.
He is rich who owns the day,
and no one owns the day
who allows it to be invaded with fret and anxiety.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities, no doubt, crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can, tomorrow is a
new day;
begin it well and serenely,
with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense.
This new day is too dear, with its hopes and invitations,
to waste a moment on the yesterdays...
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well".
Dame Julian of Norwich

This too shall pass

  1. Oh wow, the first little piece I had never heard before but the 'all shall be well' and 'this too shall pass' are among my favourite sayings and mantras. I was telling my daughter 'this too shall pass' about her failing her driving test. Beautiful collared dove - we have a pair that come to our garden sometimes.

  2. What sensible thoughts the poem portrays, and elocquently said! (Can't spell it)

Like Sr. The Julian of Norwich quote, I love reading her sayings and prayers

  3. love Julian -- she's one of my faves. And hadn't come across that particular Emerson before but liked it very much.
